Partime Custodial Supervisor - Evening
Washington Building Services is seeking a School Custodial Supervisor for evenings. Must be able to pass a background screening and drug test.

Position Overview:
As a Custodial Supervisor, you'll lead and coordinate the custodial team's efforts to maintain cleanliness across our organization's facilities. Your role involves strategizing cleaning plans, supervising staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and addressing any arising issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Training: Directly oversee custodial staff, assign duties, and provide training on proper cleaning procedures and equipment usage. Act as a mentor and guide to ensure high standards are consistently met.
Performance Management: Regularly assess staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Maintain open communication channels to address concerns and recognize achievements.
Operations Management: Coordinate schedules, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. Conduct inspections to uphold cleanliness standards and address any maintenance needs promptly.
Vendor Relations: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to procure necessary supplies and equipment. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and negotiate terms as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with the school operations team to align cleaning schedules with school events and activities. Collaborate with office management to streamline processes and maintain efficient operations.
Summer Duties:
Planning and Training: Collaborate with leadership to develop cleaning procedures and workflow for the summer season. Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure readiness for deep cleaning projects.
Project Oversight: Supervise deep cleaning and floor maintenance projects to ensure quality and efficiency. Assist with on-site operations as needed to support the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Relevant Experience: Minimum of 1 year in custodial services, Preference is given to candidates with 4 years of janitorial experience.
Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in planning, organizing, and managing resources. Ability to adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds and engage effectively with staff.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy equipment (up to 75 pounds frequently, 100 pounds occasionally), climbing ladders, and operating cleaning machinery. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of supervisor experience in janitorial work, with a focus on safety standards (OSHA or APPA Level 1). Experience performing floor stripping and waxing.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established protocols.
A valid driver's license is required for necessary errands and site visits.
Pay Range:
$14-$17
